Shooting Turns Deadly In Philadelphia: Police

One man is dead after shots rang out on a Philadelphia street late Tuesday, June 27, city police told Daily Voice.

It happened in North Philly on the 3100 block of North Stillman Street around 9:30 p.m., the department said. Officers were dispatched for reports of an armed person. 

Authorities said the victim, 22-year-old Nadir Smith, had been shot in the head, chest, and back. Police drove him to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:45 p.m., according to the department.

No weapon was recovered from the scene and no arrests have been made as of Wednesday, June 28, they added. 

Smith's killing is being investigated by the Homicide Detective Division.
